BLACK+DECKER Leaf Blower
Black+Decker Inc. is an American manufacturer of power tools, accessories, hardware, home improvement products, home appliances, and fastening systems based in Towson, Maryland, north of Baltimore, where it was founded in 1910. Stanley Black & Decker was formed by the merger of Black & Decker and Stanley Works on March 12, 2010. It is still a wholly owned subsidiary of that corporation.
A leaf blower, also known as a blower, is a gardening tool that uses air to propel debris such as leaves and grass cuttings out of a nozzle. Leaf blowers are powered by either electric or gasoline engines. Gasoline engines have traditionally been two-stroke, but four-stroke engines have recently been introduced to address air pollution concerns. Leaf blowers are typically handheld units or backpack-mounted units with a handheld wand. The latter is more comfortable to use for extended periods of time. Larger units may be supported by wheels and even propelled by a motor. Because they must be pushed by hand to operate, these are sometimes referred to as “walk-behind leaf blowers.”
